Organisasi AWWA

American Water Works Association (AWWA) adalah asosiasi internasional yang didirikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan pasokan air.

Asosiasi atau organisasi ini bersifat nirlaba, dengan prinsip ilmiah dan juga bergerak di bidang pendidikan terkait kualitas dan pasokan air.

Tujuan utama dari AWWA adalah untuk menyediakan solusi air total untuk memastikan pengelolaan air yang efektif.

Standar AWWA

AWWA pertama kali menerbitkan dokumen konsensus pada tahun 1908, dan saat ini terdapat sejumlah lebih dari 180 Standar AWWA.

Standar AWWA mencakup semua bidang pengolahan dan pasokan air, baik dari sumber hingga penyimpanan, dari pengolahan hingga distribusi.

Dokumen-dokumen ini mencerminkan keadaan industri, jadi ketika teknologi baru muncul maka standar baru juga turut berkembang.
