Japanese Industrial Standards – JIS

Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) adalah standar yang digunakan untuk kegiatan industri di Jepang, seperti : types/scales, quality/performance, dan safety.

Jadi JIS meliputi berbagai bidang yang luas seperti :

  • types/scales : ukuran
  • quality/performance : kualitas
  • safety : keselamatan
  • dan lainnya.

Badan yang melakukan koordinasi untuk JIS adalah Komite Standar Industri Jepang atau Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC).

Sedangkan lembaga yang menerbitkan JIS adalah Asosiasi Standar Jepang atau Japanese Standards Association (JSA).

JISC terdiri dari banyak komite nasional dan memainkan peran penting dalam melakukan standardisasi kegiatan di seluruh Jepang.

Sejarah JIS

Pada era pemerintahan Meiji di jepang, perusahaan swasta bertanggung jawab untuk membuat standar.

Meskipun pemerintah Jepang juga memiliki dokumen standar dan spesifikasi untuk keperluan pengadaan barang-barang tertentu, seperti amunisi.

Berbagai standar tersebut diringkas untuk membentuk standar resmi yakni Standar Teknik Jepang atau Japanese Engineering Standard pada tahun 1921.

Selama berlangsung Perang Dunia II, standar yang disederhanakan ditetapkan untuk meningkatkan keluaran material.

Asosiasi Standar Jepang atau Japanese Standards Association saat ini didirikan pada tahun 1946, setahun setelah kekalahan Jepang dalam Perang Dunia II.

Peraturan Komite Standar Industri Jepang atau Japanese Industrial Standards Committee diumumkan pada tahun 1946, dan standar baru dibentuk.

Undang-undang Standardisasi Industri atau Industrial Standardization Law diberlakukan pada tahun 1949.

Aturan tersebut yang menjadi landasan hukum untuk Standar Industri Jepang atau Japanese Industrial Standards saat ini.

Tanda JIS

Undang-undang Standardisasi Industri direvisi pada tahun 2004 dan tanda sertifikasi produk JIS diubah.

Sejak 1 Oktober 2005, tanda JIS atau JIS Mark yang baru telah digunakan pada sertifikasi ulang.

Penggunaan merek lama diperbolehkan selama masa transisi 3 tahun yang berakhir pada tanggal 30 September 2008, dan setiap pabrikan dapat menggunakan merek JIS yang baru.

Oleh karena itu, semua produk Jepang bersertifikasi JIS yang diproduksi sejak 1 Oktober 2008 telah memiliki tanda JIS yang baru.

Logo lama bernama日本工業規格 Nihon Kōgyō Kikaku yang digunakan hingga 30 June 2019, digantikan oleh日本産業規格, Nihon Sangyō Kikaku.

Simbol JIS lama digunakan hingga 30 September 2008.

Simbol ini telah disertakan dalam Unicode sejak versi 1.0.1 sebagai U+3004 〄 Simbol Standar Industri Jepang atau Japanese Industrial Standard Symbol.

Klasifikasi dan penomoran standar JIS

Standar ini diberi nama dalam format “JIS X 0208:1997”, dengan arti :

  • X menunjukkan pembagian area,
  • 4 digit angka selanjutnya menunjukkan area, dengan catatan bahwa 5 digit untuk standar yang sesuai dengan ISO,
  • Setelah tanda “:”, ada empat digit terakhir yang menunjukkan tahun revisi.

  • JIS C 7012 – Type designation system for discrete semiconductor devices
